Guerlain - Meteorites Pearls: 04 Pearly White

Introduction
This is Guerlain's Asian Exclusive Meteorites in 04 Pearly White released for Spring 2009. I feel so good to live in Asia!

Packaging
The theme is white. I've noticed that Guerlain has made some variation on the Meteorites powder balls packaging for their holiday collection in recent years. The whole casing design had changed instead of just change the color of the 'fish scale' pattern. However, the casing for this Pearly White is still the traditional 'fish scale' pattern but in white. It is a bit plain for my taste.

Texture
Scented with Guerlain's signature scent. The texture is fine and smooth.

Price
RM185, 33g.

Review
Currently Guerlain Meteorites face powder has 3 regular shades which is 01 Mystic (the original), 02 Pink Fresh & 03 Beige Chic. From the naming convention, I suppose 04 Pearly White would be their regular too (in Asia). I'm kind of expect a white cast when I heard the name is Pearly White, instead it gives a beautiful pink glow. I like this Pearly White more than the other 3 regular shades. I really can't tell the different between Pink Fresh & Beige Chic but I can clearly see the difference for Pearly White. It is more glowing but not glittery at all. I hardly see any shimmer on my face. Pearly White reminds me of the Reflect De Nacre released for Holiday 2002 minus the shimmer. I would highly recommend fair skintone people to go for this Pearly White instead of the other 3 shades.

Guerlain Poudre De Perles - Rose Fraise

Introduction
This is a limited edition item from Guerlain's Spring 2008 collection. The theme of the collection is pearl.

Packaging
The compact is a black plastic case with screw top bearing the traditional Guerlain Meteorities motif on top. The motif is simply a drawing instead of imprint. This seems like a cheaper version of the Guerlain Meteorites 18k gold compact which fetch about USD180. So you just get what you paid for. Although the design is sleek but I still prefer a flip up compact. The screw top is a bit less convenient to use.

Texture
The powder is very finely milled and ultra smooth. One of the finest I've used.

Price
RM200.

Review
I'm a big fan of Guerlain's Meteorites powder and I know I must have it when I saw it in the advertisement. Some people said the surface design give them goose bumps but I think they are unique. I always praise Guerlain for making creative & artistic cosmetics. This is merely a pressed version of Guerlain's Meteorites powder balls. Similar to the ball version, this pressed one also comes in 3 colors which are Mystic, Rose Fraise & Beige Chic. I bought the Rose Fraise although I was tempted by Mystic too. Frankly speaking, these 3 colors doesn't differ much on my fair olive skintone. The pigment is very sheer and hardly any shimmer in it. I notice a very subtle glow but not shimmer. The white pearl at the centre can be used as highlighter at the corner of the eyes and nose bridge. Generally, this is not a must have item but a luxury item if you have extra money to spend.

Guerlain - Meteorites Pearls: Gold Temptation (2007)

Introduction
This is from Guerlain's 2007 holiday (Christmas) collection. the main theme for this collection is gold.

Packaging
This year's holiday collection Meteorties packaging is quite different from all the past releases. It doesn't have the signature 'fish scales' like design at the side but purely solid gold and white. I'm a bit disappointed with the package actually. I was hoping it comes with a golden 'fish scales' design.

Texture
I found this version has a finer and smoother texture compares to all the previous Meteorites releases. The powder balls are much smaller than the regular one and this is the 1st time I saw such a small Meteorites balls. Maybe this contribute to the finer texture.

Price
RM168, 33g.

Review
As we all can see from the picture, the main theme for this year is gold. This meteorites consists of powder balls in shimmery gold, shimmery silver, white, beige. Maybe it looks a bit boring but it actually turns out to be one of the best Meteorites. The give the skin an absolutely gorgeous glow and compliment my olive skintone very well. It is a glowing effect and basically the shimmery particles are hardly noticeable. Although the tiny size of the balls gives a smoother and finer texture but those balls stuck on my brush bristle occasionally. My brush will pick up some of the balls out from the container and eventually falls to the floor. What a waste! I used to divide my Meteorites into half and swap half of the content out but I doubt I'm able to divide this Meteorites evently with such a small size and large amount of balls. Generally, this is a gold version of Meteorites, definately worth a try.

Guerlain - Terracotta Sun Elixir 01 Ultimate Gold

Introduction
The full name of this product is Guerlain Sun Elixir Tan Magnifier . It was being released as limited edition item for Summer 2007.
Packaging
I have to crown Guerlain as the most innovative brand in packaging. This is one of the most unique packaging from Guerlain. It has a sponge attached to the cap. The powder is stored at the bottom of the round shape container and being dispensed to the surface after being shaked and stick to the sponge. You don't need to worry about powder flying everywhere with this.
Texture
Slightly scented with Guerlain signature scent. Powder is ultra fine and pigmented.
Price
RM189.
Review
Guerlain always surprises me with their creative ideas and packaging. This product is amazing. There are 2 colors being released, 01 Ultimate Gold and 02 Ultimate Copper. I got Ultimate Gold as I think it suits my fair skintone better. I'm amazed by the fineness of the powder. The particle is so fine that it feels like pure pigment on my skin. Despict of the name Ultimate Gold, I didn't see any gold color on my skin. It reflects silver with hints of bronze on where the light hits and looks coral gold on certain angle.

I use it as an eye shadow and it is very beautiful! It can be used as highlighter too but since it is ultra shimmery so a little goes a long way.Somehow I feel the powder contains a bit of moisture and makes it stays on my lids without flying all over my face. I guess the name 'Elixir' make some sense. It gives the perfect summer look. Although the design with a sponge is nice but I find it not very practical. The sponge is too big and since the powder is quite pigmented, I couldn't apply the powder directly to my face with the sponge. It will be very overdo but i would feel pampered to use it on my body.

Stila - Summer Bloom Blush duo Quiant & Coral

Introduction
This is a limited edition powder blush being released for summer.

Packaging
The tin is big. Unlike their usual cardboard packaging, this container somehow looks like metal with the copper metalic coloring, it feels like metal too. The clear top reveals the color inside at one glance and it is definately a plus point. Love the light weight packaging.

Texture
Scentless, powder is a little coarse compares to their regular powder blushes. Quite powdery.

Price
N/A. Value for money.

Review
This blush duo contains a warm peach and a ballet pink. Both shades are ultra shimmery. I guess this could be the one if I'm only allowed to own 1 blush. The reason being is it has both the warm and cool shades put together in a big tin. Every girl should have at least 2 blushes which are in cool and warm tones to match their makeup and clothes. The warm side is a medium shimmery peach. The cool side is a shimmery ballet pink. I think every skintone can use this blush all year long with this kind of combination. The texture is quite powdery so be sure to use a light hand to avoid picking up too much powder on your brush. Generally, this blush is great but of cause I'm allowed to own more than 1 blush so it is not a must have for me but perfect for a makeup beginner.
